Welcome to the National Evaluation of the Children’s Fund website. NECF has been a research programme run by the University of Birmingham, in partnership with the University of London Institute of Education and ICT specialists Nemisys. Until March 2006 we were evaluating what works in the prevention of social exclusion for children and young people, and why it works.
A series of final conferences were held regionally in May/June 2006 with and final reports giving an overview of the Children's Fund and learning for the development of preventative services. These can now all can now be downloaded via the Headlines section on this homepage.
Our website:
- Shares our evaluation findings
- Offers practical resources for those evaluating children's services or consulting with children and families
- Published NECF reports, papers, resource materials and discussion documents
- Provides a resource library on topic relevant to the Children's Fund and preventative services more widely - now with an easy to use search facility;
No new materials are now being added - although the website will be live until 2008. All links and contact details are correct (to the best of our knowledge) at 30/3/06 - but no further amendments can be made to existing details.
